What To Know About
Dr. Kaitlin Cordova
Kaitlin made the decision to dedicate her gifts and clinical
expertise to serving the Parkinson's community of Lexington, KY.
Next Level Movement allows her to provide each client with high
quality care from the comfort and convenience of their own
homes. When she is not actively pursuing ways to better serve
people with Parkinson's in her community, you can find her
taking ballroom dance lessons, training in traditional Japanese
martial arts, teaching self-defense courses, or enjoying a movie
and a drink with her friends.
Kaitlin received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019 from
the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During coursework
and continuing education courses, she has consistently been
drawn to the incredible potential available to people with
Parkinson's, as well as the general older adult population. She
has followed this passion to receive certifications in LSVT BIG
and PWR!Moves, with plans for further Parkinson's specific
certifications in the near future. She is also a certified
Matter of Balance coach. In 2021, she made the decision to
dedicate her gifts and clinical expertise to serving the
Parkinson's community of Lexington, KY.
Kaitlin is skilled in LSVT BIG. LSVT BIG trains people with
Parkinson disease (PD) to use their body more normally. People
living with PD or other neurological conditions often move
differently, with gestures and actions that become smaller and
slower.
Kaitlin is also skilled in PWR!Moves. PWR!Moves® is a
PD-specific skill training program to maintain or restore skills
that deteriorate and interfere with everyday movements. Dr.
Farley created PWR!Moves® as the EVOLUTION of her original LSVT
BIG® exercise program.
Kaitlin is skilled in Matter of Balance. A Matter of Balance
(MOB) is specifically designed to reduce the fear of falling and
improve activity levels among community-dwelling older adults.
The program includes eight two-hour classes presented to a small
group of 8-12 participants led by trained coaches. The program
enables participants to reduce the fear of falling by learning
to view falls as controllable, setting goals for increasing
activity levels, making small changes to reduce fall risks at
home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
